President's Message: GM Taboada - Thank You All

To all WEBAF Ambassadors, Commissioners, the Balintawak Community and friends around the world: on behalf of Grandmaster Nick Elizar, I would like to thank everyone who gave their financial assistance to help pay for the medical-surgical expenses necessary for GM Nick's wife. Your overwhelming support is deeply appreciated by Grandmaster Nick.

As President, I sincerely bow to all of you. I hope this federation will continue to grow and cultivate lasting friendship and brotherhood among our members.

President's Message - Induction Ceremony

To WEBAFEDERATION INDUCTEES, MEMBERS, AND HONORED GUESTS:

It is with great honor and pleasure to greet the officers and members of the WEBAFEDERATION on the occasion of its induction. I should have been there as President-elect to share the joy of this moment with all of you but due to my travel and seminar commitments I am not able to do so. Our Vice President Nick Elizar has graciously accepted the responsibility to fulfill the role in my absence.

I feel so honored that the induction will be attended by Senator Miguel Zubiri,whom I have not met in person, but have known about him from my close childhood friend Elvin "Boy" Zubiri of Las Vegas and dear friend Grandmaster Christopher Ricketts of San Diego, California. I am honored and excited that Supreme Grandmaster Dionisio Canete, our brothers from DOCE Pares and other welcomed guests will be present to witness this historic moment.

It is my wish and hope that this will be the beginning of our close friendship, unity and brotherhood in the name of Philippine Martial Arts. The word "Arnis Eskrima and "Kali" will be one and known as Philippine Martial Arts.

I want to thank you all for putting your trust by electing me as President and most important for supporting the WEBAFEDERATION MABUHAY TAYONG LAHAT!

A Message From The President

GM Guillermo O. Taboada

I am very happy and excited that WEBAF is now officially in existence - this is a realization of a long time dream of mine.

I strongly believe that this Federation will unite all the Balintawak Grandmasters, Masters, and Practitioners.

As President of the Federation, my goal is to reunite and restore the friendship and brotherhood in the Balintawak community. It is my hope that every practitioner, especially the new generation, contributes in helping to promote the Art.

I have no formal education. All I have is my knowledge in Balintawak Eskrima, but I have succeeded in having Balintawak recognized worldwide. I have achieved this by focusing on friendship and giving my students a quality of teaching that they can be proud of. I say this to all practitioners and students: If I can do it, you can do it. In my practice, I have always emphasized the following:

1) Don't forget where you came from.
2) Nobody is a "Who is Who" in Balintawak.
3) Promote friendship and brotherhood.
4) Be a good example.

I wish that our Great Grandmasters were still alive today to witness us promote the Art that they gave us. I want to thank all the members and organizers of the World Eskrima Balintawak Federation.
